Through building science we diagnose problems within your house, then work with you to develop a plan to increase your home’s safety, energy efficiency, and comfort. We utilize blower door testing (air tightness test), infrared cameras (heat loss/gain test), and combustion appliance tests to determine where your home could benefit from efficiency and safety upgrades. Our recommendations focus on lowering your energy bills, reducing your carbon footprint, and improving your indoor air quality and comfort.
Air Sealing helps reduce energy loss, increases indoor comfort as well as limiting outdoor air pollutants from entering your home through basements, wall cavities and attics. Most homes are poorly sealed and have air infiltration and exfiltration problems. K2 seals cracks, crevices, and penetrations in the interior and exterior of the home with a variety of products and techniques.
There are numerous types of insulation products. We determine what your best options are, including environmentally-friendly blown cellulose, fiberglass batting, open- and closed-cell spray foam, and rigid foam board. Many homes have insufficient insulation or no insulation at all. K2 installs insulation in walls, attics, and crawl spaces to ensure your home has an effective thermal envelope.
K2 works with electric utility providers to help customers save energy and increase comfort and safety of their homes. Currently we work with PPL Electric Utilities in their WRAP program. The WRAP program provides income-eligible customers with a no-cost energy assessment, free energy-saving products, and energy tips for long-term savings.
